That is OpenAI's figure, up from 230 million in January 2026. A US poll found 1 in 3 adults used an AI chatbot for health information in the past year.
What they ask
In the Australian survey, 37% asked what their symptoms mean. Another 12% asked whether to see a doctor. In the US poll, 1 in 5 cited cost or access.
The 5 your clinic can answer
These are practical questions, and you already know the answers. We checked 275 pages on 59 sites for a sentence answering each one.
What we found
Of 59 sites, 45 mentioned Medicare or funds and 32 gave a fee. Fewer covered referrals, the first visit or the wait. Ten sites answered none.
By clinic type
They averaged 3 of 5, because Medicare rebates make them explain referrals and fees. Cosmetic sites averaged 0.6, and 6 of 10 answered nothing.
The catch
Seven GP clinics kept fees in table cells, with no sentence around them. A person can read that. A tool that quotes text cannot. Put your fee in a sentence.
This week
Give your fee in dollars, and say if a referral is needed. Describe the first visit and the usual wait. Say what Medicare or a fund covers. Keep it factual.
