The main finding
Say an AI tool linked your clinic in any of 5 identical runs. A single check would still miss it 37% of the time.
Same question, 5 times
Only 27 of 97 clinic and question pairs were linked in all 5 runs. Another 19 showed up once and never again.
By AI tool
The chance one check misses you was 44% on ChatGPT, 41% on Claude and 24% on Perplexity. On ChatGPT, only 5 of 39 pairs showed up every time.
What to count
Perplexity returned 810 sources but used only 307 in its answers. One source it returned every time was a podiatrist in Hobart, Indiana.
Across AI tools
Almost half the clinic sites linked in answers were missing on the other 2 tools. So check each tool on its own for your clinic.
How many checks
On ChatGPT and Claude, 3 checks found about 90% of what 5 found. One check found under 60%. Reword your questions too.
The method
Write your questions first. Ask each one 3 to 5 times per tool, in a new chat. Count only links in the answer. Track your score each quarter.
