We read the sitemaps of 55 Australian clinic websites. The median one publishes 92 pages. The range runs from 1 to 949.
The whole answer
A rewrite is your page count multiplied by the work each page needs. Both numbers are knowable in an afternoon. Most quotes are written without either.
The spread
Nine sites publish under 20 pages. Eight publish more than 300. A quote built for a nine page brochure site is not wrong by a little on those. It is wrong by a factor of ten.
How much copy
The median page we measured carries 820 words. Multiply the two medians and a median clinic site holds roughly 75,000 words, the length of a short novel. That is an estimate from two medians, not a measured total.
The part that does not compress
Across 275 pages, 44.7% carried an unambiguous compliance flag and 65.8% carried a line a person has to read in context. A flag is a decision to make, not proof a rule was broken.
Clinic type
Median pages by type: physiotherapy 259, cosmetic 197, dental 72, psychology 41, general practice 38. Location and treatment pages are what multiply. The groups are small, so read the order as a signal.
