It is where a new patient checks they can afford you. We read the fees pages of 58 Australian clinic websites to see what they answer.
Six questions
What the first visit costs. How long it runs. What is left after Medicare or the fund. When to pay. What a late cancellation costs. Whether the fees are current.
The first finding
Two more listed a fees page that no longer worked. One fees page had no fees on it, only a line saying the schedule was being updated.
The main finding
22 gave a first-visit price. 14 said how long it runs. 9 said when you pay. 7 gave the late cancellation fee. 6 dated their fees. The typical page answered 3.
The missing number
19 pages mentioned Medicare or a health fund rebate. Only 9 put a dollar figure on what the patient is left paying. All 9 were GP or psychology clinics.
Check your rebates
11 pages quoted a Medicare rebate we could check against MBS Online. 3 showed a figure that no longer matched the 1 July 2026 schedule.
